Founding experience

Looking at one another you will grow in devotion and praise God our Lord, whom everyone should strive to recognize in others.
Ignatius of Loyola

The experience of God, lived in the darkness of a transformative night, is the source of our spirituality.
Jeanne de Lestonnac, the woman who had always allowed herself to be guided by God, going beyond her own desires, was surprised by the saving light of the Resurrection in this experience of failure.

From this experience on, she can only see herself in relation to others being at the center of her own existence: “she understood that it was she who had to extend her hand” to young women in the danger caused by ignorance.

From thence forward, being and doing, contemplation and action merged into one in search of God, a God who gave himself to humankind through Jesus Christ in a mission for the world. In her own life she harmonized time and places of prayer and activity. Jeanne contemplated another woman, Mary who had quietly learned to live united to her Son in this way. She is for the Company the inspirational presence who shows the path to be forged throughout history.
